About ClipLogger
ClipLogger logs your footage on your Mac, so every clip comes off the card already tagged with who is in it, what happens and which takes are good, and that log travels with the file into whatever edit comes next.
Why it exists
From the moment a card comes off the camera, the footage knows nothing about itself, and the first thing that looks inside a clip is the edit, hours or days later, after someone has already offloaded, verified and organized all of it blind.
ClipLogger does that first pass for you, so you offload, verify, log, rename and tag the best takes before you open the edit, and the editor starts with footage that can already be searched.
Your logs stay in your files
Every offload gets an MHL manifest and a second read of the source, so you know the copy matches the card, and every tag lands in an open .logger.json sidecar and XMP right next to the clip, which Premiere reads without a plug-in. If you stop paying for anything, the app, the logs and the files stay exactly where they are.

On your Mac by default, faster when you need it
The local engine is free and runs on your Mac with nothing uploaded. When a deadline lands you can add your own API key for Fast, or spend Rush credits and log 500 clips in about 5 minutes, and whichever you pick, the log is written to the same open sidecar.
Who builds it
ClipLogger is built by Leland Dutcher, a cinematographer and creative technologist, and made by Sous Creative LLC in Florida. If something breaks or you want a feature, the contact page reaches him directly.
