Choose the source and destinations

Open Ingest and inspect the mounted source. Confirm the destination paths and naming before beginning. If staging is part of the plan, ensure the staging drive is actually selected and available. Keep existing camera folder families together when the format depends on companion files.

Follow the run through verification

Watch the reported transfer and verification stages for each destination. A completed transfer progress bar is not the same as a verified durable destination. Keep the source card intact while any required copy or verification remains unresolved.

Read the result rather than the intention

Inspect the file count, destination, warnings, and retained verification record. If one destination succeeds and another fails, report those outcomes separately. A reused card label, matching filename, or matching size is insufficient evidence that a new source is already protected.

Keep generated ASC MHL records with the media when the workflow produces them. They describe a particular verification event; they do not cover every future change to the destination.

Recover carefully

If a reader disconnects, a share disappears, or verification fails, preserve the source and restore the relevant connection. Use the reported recovery path for the affected run. Do not manually remove partial files simply to make the interface look finished.

Begin logging on a dependable copy

Once the required result is confirmed, open the destination folder and inspect representative clips. Log a sample before enabling any automatic analysis that might compete with the next transfer. Review the Ingest reference for the settings and common questions.
